Working in the gaps
A transit site is busy in waves. Between arrivals the concourse is nearly empty, and that is when installation work belongs. It means more visits and tighter planning, but it also means no work is ever done with a crowd pressing against the barrier.
Downtime: how it is measured and how it is reduced
Availability across a self-service fleet is measured in downtime hours per terminal per month. Reducing it comes down to three things: early fault detection, spare parts held close to the site, and a service route that puts critical locations first. A properly sized preventive maintenance plan removes a good share of corrective call-outs and, with them, the waiting that builds up at the branch. It is one of the questions branches ask us most often: terminal out of service.
Permits take longer than the work
On operator-controlled sites, registering a crew and clearing tools through security can take longer than the installation itself. Starting that process at survey stage, not on the morning of the job, is what keeps a programme on schedule.
